For ten years, marketing had one job: move people from the street to the screen. Get the click, the follow, the view. It worked so well that the screen is now full. Every feed is packed with ads, creators and, increasingly, content nobody actually made.
We think 2027 runs the other way. The best campaigns will use social to move people back into the real world: to a street corner, a store, a pop-up, a giant object they have to see with their own eyes.
Why brand activations matter more in 2027
A view costs almost nothing and means almost as little. Someone standing in front of your brand, phone in hand, chose to be there. They walked, took the train, brought a friend. That is the strongest signal a brand can get, and it is the one most marketing plans still don't aim for.
As AI makes it effortless to produce endless images and films, the things people value most are the things that can't be generated: a real place, a real crowd, a moment you had to be there for.
Attention is cheap. Presence is rare. The feed is the invitation, the street is the payoff.
An inflatable activation in New York: Aritzia's giant Super Puff
Aritzia was launching a new version of its cult puffer, with 800+ fill-power down: more warmth, less weight. Instead of explaining a spec, the jacket became a place. A pink Super Puff the height of a building, wedged between two buildings at 159 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side.

Around it, the story ran on social: a CGI film where Super Puffs drift over a New York corner like hot-air balloons, made for Reels and TikTok. The film travels where the jacket can't. The jacket gives the film something real to point to. You can scroll past a film. You can also go and stand under the real thing.
And the people who came did what people always do in front of something this big: they filmed it and posted it, which brings the next people. Marketing title Famous Campaigns covered the installation, and their LinkedIn post about it passed 1,600 reactions within its first day.

Why giant inflatables make the best activations
Of all the ways to put a brand into a street, custom inflatables are the ones we keep coming back to. They give you the scale of a building without building one.
- 01Huge scale, any shape
A product, a mascot or a character, blown up to a size nobody can walk past. Scale is what makes people stop, and what makes the photo.
- 02Fast in, fast out
An inflatable goes up and comes down far faster than a built set, which suits pop-ups, launch weekends and short permits.
- 03Made to be filmed
Big, bright and simple shapes read clearly on a phone screen, in a creator's story and in your own video production.
- 04Reusable and touring
Pack it, ship it and set it up again in the next city, store opening or festival. One build, many activations.
How we plan a brand activation that works on social
Every activation we make now starts from the same loop. Not "make something big", but "give people a reason to go, and a reason to post once they're there."
- 01The film
Video production made for social: CGI films, creator cuts and launch videos that end with a place, not a link.
- 02The activation
Something worth the trip: bigger, stranger or more fun in person than on any screen.
- 03The crowd
Visitors film it and post it. Their content becomes the next invitation.
Brand activation trends we're betting on for 2027
- 01Every campaign needs an address
A launch that only exists online is easy to forget. Give it a street, a store or a city people can visit.
- 02Real and CGI work as a team
The real build proves it exists. The CGI film takes it everywhere else and tells people where to find it.
- 03Design for the camera and the visit
Where it stands, how it's lit and how close people can get matter as much as how it looks in a 9:16 crop.
- 04Count visits, not just views
Footfall, store visits and people posting from the spot are the numbers that show a campaign really landed.
Brand activation FAQ
What is a brand activation?
A brand activation is a live, real-world experience that lets people meet a brand in person: a pop-up, an installation, a giant inflatable, a stunt or an event. The best ones are also designed to be filmed and shared, so they reach far more people online than the ones who were there.
What is an inflatable activation?
An inflatable activation uses a giant custom inflatable, such as a product replica, a mascot or a character, as the centrepiece of a campaign. It is installed on a street, at a store, at an event or on a rooftop so people can see it, take photos with it and post it.
Why use giant inflatables for brand activations?
Inflatables give you the scale of a building without building one. They can take any shape, go up and come down quickly, look great on camera and can be reused for the next city, event or store opening.
How do you get people from social media to a real activation?
Plan the social content and the activation together. Films and creator posts invite people to a real place, the activation is worth the trip, and visitors' own videos bring the next people. Aritzia's giant Super Puff on Ludlow Street, with a CGI film on social, is an example of that loop.
Do you also handle the video production?
Yes. We do the concept, the inflatable build and install, and the video production around it: CGI and mixed-reality films, social cuts and launch videos, plus the ads and distribution that put them in front of the right people.
Do you design and build the inflatables yourselves?
Yes. We design every inflatable in 3D, build it in our own factory in Thailand, and ship and install it for the launch.
That is the work we want to do more of: real objects, real places and the films that send people to them. We did it with a giant duck for NYX and a roaring gorilla for a movie launch. If your brand has something worth seeing in person, let's give people a reason to go.
